Training for hairdressers
Choosing the ideal Testamodella® for your training depends on the type of treatment you plan to perform and your year of study. For a realistic, salon-like experience, it is best to opt for a head model with 100% human hair. This can be used for a variety of treatments such as perming, styling, dyeing or cutting with different techniques. Starting with a length of 30/35 cm in the first year and moving to models with longer, denser hair in later years is a good strategy. With the right sequence of cuts and proper care5, your Testamodella® can last for the entire course of study.
Certainly, as a student you can purchase your Testamodella® Model Head directly from our website by choosing the model that best suits your training needs.
The hair of a Caliven's Testamodella®, being chemically pre-treated, requires specific care. It is advisable to use neutral or slightly alkaline pH products to prevent the hair from shrinking or felting. When washing, use a comb and wash hair following its natural direction. For maintenance, apply leave-in masks or use dry shampoo to remove residue from products such as hairspray or gels.
On the Care and Maintenance page you can find other useful tips and specific products for taking good care of your head model.
During the first use take care to remove any elastic bands and wash the hair following its natural direction. When you comb a Testamodella® for the first time, it is normal to experience some slight hair loss. Before each reuse, it is important to remove any residual hairspray or previous hairstyling with a brush.
Caliven head mannequins come with basic make-up, but are also suitable for the application of additional make-up for creative customization. You can use eyeliner and eye shadow for the eyes, and a lip pencil to define the shape of the mouth. To fix the makeup, we recommend the use of hairspray.
